Floating sectional?
Just got this new sectional… it needs space on the back for the recliners but then I don’t really like seeing an 8” gap behind the couch as I walk into the room. ChatGPT suggested a floating sectional… so I moved it out a little farther, and it suggested I even move it a few more inches towards the tv, but I’m not sure its worth the hassle of moving this beast. Do I just need to get used to seeing the space behind the furniture or do I push it back as close to the wall as I can? I’m sure it can go a few inches closer than my photo above anyway. Any other option? Appreciate the help!!!

PROlast monthThere is some fine tuning needed for the room. The mirror is too small for the size of the room.
I'd recommend there should be something placed on the right side of the fireplace.
The wall colors for the room are a real issue. The neutral color is too yellow in tone and the burgundy is something that would have been selected back in 1985. IMO it's a poor color scheme and I would change it.
Think about getting full height drapery panels for the windows. It will soften the room.
Your ceiling fan is mounted too high to do much good in the room. Get a longer downrod.

I like the plant and shelving.
Shelving is open, but arranged decor blocks the view, and the floor basket and taller plant help disguise, as well.Pull out somewhere between photo #2 and #3. The floors are lovely, so problem looking at those.
“drapery draw” the panels to the right of the window. Another visual foil to fill in the space.

Put a plant right there(white circle). Also - if you put up curtains it will take away some of the emptiness in the back of the sectional.
