I think the table and chairs work. The AI pics are a bit stark. Try to bring in some color in the art, decor and possibly a painted sideboard rather than black.

Make sure all chairs can slide under the table or people can't get close enough to eat.

The first table design is awful for the people sitting at the ends. No space for legs unless the overhang is at least 24".

Agree ^ since the chairs have arms, check they fit under the table. I think the island as it is now is better than the black.

I wouldn't use the white upholstered chairs in the kitchen. Save them for the dining room, if you have one. Do you have children? or do children visit? White fabric would not be a good choice if so.

The side chairs are very nice, as is the existing wood table.

You can for sure use black in a Coastal scheme. The black on the island looks good.

The side chairs don’t work with the host chairs. You need a different style and a larger scale on the side chairs (the chairs are too low).

I like the parson's table best with the rest of chairs. The pedestal table (third picture) is way too traditional with the style of the chairs you picked. If these are every day living chairs, I would consider using a performance fabric, ideally in color or pattern. I strongly recommend a chandelier over the table too. It will create more ambiance and will 'gather' the area. Also, if the counter stools you have are the ones in the picture, they are not in sink with the style of the rest. They don't relate well to the table and contemporary chairs.

If you want to use the pedestal table and the bistro stools, I would change the dining chairs.

This chandelier is not the ultimate- but just one view. There are also swag plug-in chandeliers, if you don’t have existing wiring for one.

@Chroma Home’s suggestion regarding performance fabric is also good- if that is an option for you.

It doesn’t have to absolutely be the dining chairs that I show, of course; but imo, the style and scale work much better with the host chairs, table, counter stools and overall space- than the other chairs do. So at the very least, I think you need a different style of chair, with a higher back.

The island looks great with the black. It ties in with your console, too. Nice idea!

These pics are AI? It appears they changed the rooms dimentions from the first pic to the others. The angle is bad but the console in the first picture looks like there is no where to back the chair for getting in and out. With arms you need more room than chairs w/o arms.

Second pic-arms of chairs have to go under table if you hope to sit close enough to eat from them. Those chairs would be a bear to scooch in and out when seated.

Third pic- again no spot for feet except on the table base.

For me the odd man out is the upholstered chairs. They look more suited for a sitting room than and dining room. Nothing about them says practical. Will they be used daily or just when you have guests? They LOOK good, they just don't look at all like I would want to sit in them for eating.

The black on the island is a preference thing. If you like it do it. I prefer light to dark so probably wouldn't, but it does help the console color make sense in this room. The second hit of black and all.

I think host chairs are passe and for sure in a MCM type style those make the space look crowded.
