Blooming before the rain

We were able to go out and get a few photos between rains. It rained a little early and now in the afternoon, we are getting a nice rain. The flowers really needed it.

Buddy's Betsy looked nice today. Sometimes the lower petal sticks out (we call it a 'bee's landing strip') but today it was perfect.

I showed a photo of Cyclone All American the other day, but it is much nicer today.

Feanorian Lamps is my favorite patterned one. It looks like this all of the time. The scapes are taller and the flowers bigger than they have ever been this season.

Forestlake Point Lace is one of my favorite yellows.

Hillside Bright and Early is a nice flower on a robust plant with tall scapes.

We had two plants of Indiana Melissa but lost one over the winter. I wonder how long we can keep this one going.

Merry Moppet is a small flower that has a habit of not opening well. Today it is behaving.

Spacecoast Fire Dragon is new to the garden. It's not nearly as red as its registration photo shows.

Bob loves Unforgettable Fire, but it's not really my cup of tea.

Spacecoast Cheese Whiz is a small flower.

This seedling might be an intro in a couple of years. It is Back Draft X Tet. Rose F. Kennedy.

Here is another Tet. Rose F. Kennedy offspring. The pod parent is Gryphon Chelsea London.

This is the oddest shaped seedling we have ever seen. It is Red Suspenders X Red Raptor.

This is the greenest seedling we have ever seen in our garden. It is Sioux Hall X (Galaxy Explosion X Pixie Dragon)

Both of the following are Small World Fire in the Hole X Bucklebury Ferry.

This is Brer Rabbit X A Little Crabby.

Crossing Itsy Bitsy Spider X O Positive gave us lots of these little stippled ones.

That's all for me today. The flowers should be lovely tomorrow with all the rain we are getting.

I agree-rain makes a difference. I like Feanorian Lamps every time you post it. Several of your seedlings caught my eye. I like the green one! The first Small World Fire in the Hole seedling is really lovely. Looks like your season is rapidly moving along.

Buckleberry Ferry is producing some nice seedlings; the first one is especially nice. Cyclone looks good--out of Pink Stripes (Susan Weber also, which was always weak here). You have had some success with tet RFK I see.

I'm glad you got some rain yesterday. Only the far west side of Indianapolis got any rain. I did get a bit early this morning. I do like that first Buckleberry Ferry seedling. Buddy's Betsy, Feanorian Lamps, and Forestlake Point Lace are my favorites of the registered ones.

There are many I like in this post. Merry Moppet with the matching edge is nice, Forest Lake Point Lace is a good yellow color, and I also like the Sioux Hall seedling's attempt at green. I like that green tinge when I see it................Maryl

So many nice seedlings. I like the Red Suspenders seedling. I wouldn’t have guessed Red Suspenders was a parent. I grow RS here, it is a good daylily for me.

Glad you got some rain. The rain gauge says we got 1 1/2” the past day or so.
