Wellfleet is really cute. There are a couple of very good art galleries there. Check out Left Bank Gallery and Frying Pan Gallery. Also, if you happen to go thru Hyannis, Fishaye Gallery.

I haven’t been to Ptown in years, but I think it’s still safe to say it will be crowded.

We were in Chatham exactly two years ago, we really enjoyed just walking around. If you’re staying at the Chatham Bars Inn, the houses around there are just so perfectly “Cape Cod.”

As I mentioned on the other thread, we love Chatham. Fun shopping.

The drive to P-town will have a lot of traffic and it will be crowded. We went once many many years ago. It was too crowded for me. We've never gone back.

Now I have to go look up Monomoy Island. Never heard of it. We'll be on Cape Cod in mid July for a week.

Monomoy is famous for seals, yes?

Monomoy has a nature preserve and trails. You can take a boat to the actual island to bask in nature, although I have to saythere doesnt seem to be a lot to do. Loads of seals so stay out of the water since sharks follow seals. We went on a seal watching tour by boat and it was kind of fun. The seals are curious and come over to the boat. I went to the visitors center on Morris Island and hiked around.

Thanks for the input. We will take a convertible, or two; it makes traffic on small roads far more pleassant.

Looked up Monomoy. Son in law gets sea sick and I doubt we could convince him to take a boat there. And if the littles can't go in the water which loves lovely in the pictures, they won't be happy. The beaches look amazing though.

Jsk, i get miserable seasickness but this is a smaller open boat and there are no waves. It didnt bother me at all. The kids would like the seal watching, I think.

I have a sister in Eastham and one in Brewster. We always took a day to drive down 6A mid-Cape and stop in all the shops and galleries, from Brewster to Sandwich. We seldom bothered going to P-town. It's at least an hour's drive and touristy. If you want a beach day and a drive, you could go to one of the Eastham-to-Wellfleet public beaches without driving all the way to P-town. Orleans has some cute shops and is the access to Nauset Beach.

Thank you, @dedtired. I will suggest it and see what they say. I do think the little ones would love it.

I will also mention the fish pier. I suspect they may have gone there in the past.
