What is the room and what is the purpose of the covering? Looks, pirvacy, light control?

I agree, roman shades would work but hang them above the window molding.

Agree with RNmom... we need more context. Based on just the photo, I'd be inclined to find cafe curtains to soften the wood going on.

Agree with above the trim. Assuming it is a bedroom, I would do one long blackout lined Roman shade so that no light source would come in between the shades. Even if in a remote location, the moon will light up a room. One shade would also be more convenient to raise/lower than multiple shades. If not a bedroom, then standard lining.

This is a bedroom. Covering is needed for both privacy and light control. I'm a little concerned because the window is so close to the adjacent wall on one end and not centered on the wall.

@Fun2BHere , yes, at the wall! That is one reason I suggested above. Other reason being the window is not that big and trim is on smaller side as well.

FWIW, we have inset woven shades with blackout lining in all bedrooms. Some light still comes in.

I want that bed!
