Doing up interiors without false ceiling. Pune

I want to do interiors in my 2bhk flat in Pune. It is in the original condition as given by the builder. I dont want to do false ceiling . Someone guide me with what to keep in mind if going without false ceiling. I do need to play with all possible lighting aspects. Will this be possible without false ceiling?
