Wednesday-Productive spring

I have some of my daylilies about to bloom out before I can get a shot of them. So many pretty ones this spring to take pictures of. It's been a good daylily year.

Really Nice Polychrome in cooler weather, nice yellow when it heats up. It has been a solid grower and repeat bloomer.

Snow's Lake Crazies:

Good one from Nan. A lighter shade of orange then my favored Burning Inheritance, but another stand out in the garden:

Muy Caliente:

One of my oldest daylilies. It's been granted favored status by being one of the few that are planted in ground:

Yesterday Memories:

Another older one of mine. It's an evergreen so I always garage it over winter. Huge bloom:

To God Be The Glory:

New to me is this Curt Hanson Yellow. Promising. With Burning Inheritance.

Who Loves The Sun:

Another new bloomer to my collection. Only one fan, but we will see how it multiplies over time:

A very bright group. To God Be the Glory is a Carpenter. His stuff has looked good this year. Otherwise, the earlier stuff here has suffered from the weather. Performance is uneven, but flowers in general are smallish (from abnormal heat and temp variations). Just recently, cold nights are an issue (not with you, I am sure).

Debra: Of course you are right. Who Loves The Sun is a Dan Hanson. My brain was not functioning as well as it should be at 2AM when I posted these. Thanks for catching it. I've amended it now.............Maryl

Beautiful group of blooms but I do like yellows so Snows Lake Crazies would be my pick.

Love your two new daylilies. I am a more recent yellow fan…I added several about three? seasons ago. They add contrast to the garden. For the most part my yellows are the best performers. Wish I could see Snows Like Crazy in person, the yellow looks a bit unusual to me.

Kate: I agree with you. Julia and Sherry: Welcome to the Hello Yellow fans for yellow daylilies in a garden....... Snow's Lake Crazies is quickly becoming one of my favorite yellows. The shifting colors make it a twofer in the cooler weather. Lots of buds and blooms too......Brad: I saw To God Be the Glory at a daylily show years ago. It won grand prize. The exhibitor, winked and said to me "Of course it would".......Mantis: Jack Carpenter produced lots of really pretty faces. It is the face that draws my attention first. Many of his daylilies I've tried over the years though have not been winter hardy with my pot system, or have not been colorfast. Still some, like Coral Corduroy, are irreplaceable. I do have problems in early spring with frilly ones not opening now and then, but not like the more northerly climates do I'm sure.........Maryl
