When you order something with marble, you never know what "remnant" you might get and/or the quality of the marble.

The only way to get a quality top would be to approach a local fabricator, pick a slab and have a custom top made for the table.

These days I would assume that any marble ordered with furniture, is from China, unless they specify the origin of the slabs. Where is the table made?

A good restoration technician could make that look and feel much better. You'll save some money if you drop it off at a shop and pick it up yourself.

The outlet is Bonnecaze in Louisiana. Since they specialized in French tables and chairs, I assumed it would be a good thing. They get good reviews on Etsy too. The marble is said to be Carrera. It would be heartbreaking to take an expensive table that was really expensive to ship to be fixed locally.

I looked at the website. They do specify Italian Carrara, but probably use all the material they have and some tables will end up with the less pretty/perfect parts of a slab.

I would take it up with the store, but I'm sure they have some wording about it being a natural material and not being "perfect".

If that table was on the showroom floor, I would not have bought it with that crack/fissure, unless it was a really good sale/discounted price.
