Can you post the colors of the roofs you are considering? if you like what you have, i’d probably do the same (but i am risk adverse with big purchases) - simpler roof styles with less variation tend to look good with brick (since it can have a lot of variation)

gutters are best when they blend (as they are usually not considered an architectural element) so personally I would not change them unless you need to

trim/facia etc I would not do unless it needs to be done

my advice is if the budget is tight with the roof replacement, then just do that and wait on the other items - for sure don’t rush on any decisions as they are not easily changed

These are my options.

driftwood is the closest matxh to existing and i agree about keeping it the same.

teak is what i like - but much more vsration in color. but is it the roght choice.

ai usually gives me a decent enough mock up but it is struggling with the roof..

i know i dont have to do it all at once- however i cant just lesve the gutters off for a while.

whats difficult finanicslly- i have the money- but it takes away from other goals. 20k deductible. so i want to make sure they extra 6-8k id be out of pocket is really worth it. for tge tri

i may be able to go cheaper if i use lesser quakity products and cheaper labor.

I guess my big question is do i go dark trim and gutters. My current gutters are extremely tired and worn looking.

so it's hard for me to want to pay the money to have them removed then put back on. and i actually need about 50ft of gutter added.

we also have really heavy rain and our yard floods so i don't want to leave the gutters off for too long as we have them piped to drain out to the street.

i don't want ti put up dark gutters and then come back and paint because life happens and we could go years.

i like the if it aint broke dont fix it… but im still paying for the not broke part. its not a 0 or 1000 decision. :)

again i don't know what in the heck 40 did to my brain. I have always been analytical and want ti make the best all around decicsion but lately commiting to that has been impossible.

if you say ”your house looks nice the way it is and out of worst-bad-neutral-good-better-best you and you just fix the roof and keep gutters the same you will be in the good/better category”

then ill weigh the to cost of just getting new gutters to freshen them and match the trim. then ill paint the garage door color. i would love a wood look garage door. but at least i think a darker color would help anchor the house.

I get it - a lot of decisions for sure ✨ it’s personal taste and no wrong or right but for me, dark trim would emphasize and the jigs and jogs on the house and give a busier feel to the facade - i like the lighter trim and gutters as I feel like they tend to recede

fwiw i like the driftwood roof as it seems to have less red

my only other brown option is variated as well. it looks IMO awesome on my neighbors house.

but i think its too red for ours.

based on you and Chispa.. my mom and my friend im going to do driftwood and work with the trim i have.

everyone is basically saying ”dark woukd be nice, but light is just fine and way cheaper option”

if i go with the roofer who i assume will use a lesser quality than the senox, great comoany, fair price imo and lots of colors) i had quoted which means i may not be out of pocket for new gutters… limited to a few colors and im leaning to the slightly darker one.

it was overcast so lighting was hard.

^It does read red on my screen...and very busy. The Driftwood looks like an option as long as it’s not too variegated. I’d keep the shingles more ”calm” with all the brick and stone.

I agree that the Driftwood is the better choice of the two for the exact same reasons chispa stated. There's way too much variation in the teak, especially in the bright sun.

IMO, gutters, soffit and fascia should match trim. I like the taupe color you're showing the best.

Lindsey, photos and real life almost never look the same. We’re also getting a new roof and know how challenging it can be. Driftwood’s very popular so there must be a reason.

@chloebud - i chatted with my husband and he said ”if you pick the wrong roof snd hate it so much we will move” its just a roof.

im picking driftwood. this is the best i could get for a mock up.

just waiting on final contract and navigating insurance.

i will put gutters to match as close as can to my trim and call it a day

We used Driftwood and we have no regrets! Then OH painted the shutters SW Urban Bronze, recommended by another Houzzer. We added gutters later to match the white garage doors.

Id paint the garage door something other than white. Perhaps a soft sage. It wouldnt stand out so much

IMO you have a few too many contrasting materials on your exterior….as well as a few too many architectural cut outs…

In order to address this I would suggest staining or painting the large stone areas to match the new roof

This may diminish the “busy” look of your curb appeal

You do have a lot of concrete in front of your home…it seems a little overwhelming…a picture from further back may offer more ideas

At the very least ..staining the concrete could be very pretty

A picture from the center ofthe street facing your house will offer a more complete depiction of your home as well…

All of these suggestions will add value and quicken a sale …..with very little investment ….

Bark Brown or another dark brown roof shingle and dark bronze gutters and trim.
