Hit the second hand/thrift/antique stores. Ratan and the such is readily availible. Why buy new when slightly used will do!

For $300, you may have a hard time finding a solid table needed in a highy used room. The picture below is from S&L’s website and if you like the look/or similar, not in a hurry, and willing to buy second hand (paint if needed), I’m sure you could find something.

I’d move the couch off the wall or move the rug so at least the front legs are on the rug. I think the current coffee table is fine, but end tables on either side would be good additions.

S&L is all about texture and layering. IMO, the coffee table may be commanding attention because the room feels a bit unfinished with large gaps.

My two cents on stretching the $300: keep the coffee table and add more to the grouping on that side of the room. If the black console and large artwork will fit, move them to the wall where the small side table is now. The black doesn't really work, paint it, maybe a pale green or blue or white or light brown. The wood on your lounge chair should look good with the warm honey orange in the artwork and you can repeat it more by adding large baskets underneath and on the coffee table. Styling a bit more with organic elements will also move toward the S&L look.

The small side table and chair in the corner can be moved where the console is now, maybe with another chair. There is an excellent suggestion above to be on the lookout for gently used rattan pieces. BTW, your windows are lovely, perfect for the style you're aiming to achieve.

I think round works better with a sectional. It's easier to get up and maneuver around.

What do you use this space for? What do the kids do in here? Homework? Games? Art? What about you? What is the color of the console table in the second photo? Is it navy blue? What is the measurement between the two windows on the wall to the right as you are looking at the sofa?

Some thoughts about the entire space and how to get a Serena and Lily "feel"

--Keep your coffee table for now until the right round one pops up on FB Marketplace, Craigslist, or goes on sale at a quality store. As someone else suggested, if a nice used round one shows up in the wrong finish, paint it white.

--Your sofa is blocking the best feature in the room--your wonderful window at the end of your long room. Flip the sofa to face that window (unless the painting over the console table at the far end is a frame TV screen) You have a good two feet on each side of the sofa, so not any closer to the heater than it is now. I don't understand why you think this wouldn't work. This layout is often done in long living rooms like yours that have a nice focal point.

--Place the armchair by the window and create a reading corner with natural light and light from one of the sconces. Keep it close enough to the sofa, though, to create a conversational grouping. Bring your little side table next to the chair so it's usable for putting down a book or a drink. Bring the little chair from the corner so it becomes part of the conversational group.

I just love your room! If it were mine, I'd strip the existing coffee table and console to light wood, add simple white curtains and a plant, and call it done. (You could cover the fan blades too, if you wish, to keep the light, breezy look.)

Moving the console here does leave the other end of the room empty. A reading corner with chair/ottoman, bookcase, and lamp would be nice. Any spare furniture lying around?? Maybe thrift stores? I volunteer at a charitable one, and we get some really nice things.

I've been ridiculed before for this (and will be again!), but I make simple white curtains like these from inexpensive twin-sized muslin sheets. I buy muslin deliberately for its rougher, more linen-y texture than percale and more open weave that lets light through. They already have a nice deep hem on one end. I turn down the other end and sew across to make a rod pocket. They're wide enough to be nice and full as curtains. Saw an online source just now that will sell you a dozen for $45. wow. You guys are blowing my mind. My room is more square than long and my side door opens in to the room which is dead center on the wall (Left wall facing couch). I did try couch facing wi doe originally but the door is in the way when trying to open. The wall to the right- facing the couch - is only 3 feet wide.

The rest is about styling with accessories and how you place them.

You can still find muslin bed sheets but they're quite expensive. A gauze curtain panel would be just as pretty. Target sells them for $12 for 48x84 panels.

My 2 cents:

if this were my room i would consider moving the furniture. furniture placement is heavy - unbalanced all on one side. aim for balance. move the sofa from the 3 windows and center it on the rug on the wall a few feet from the wall on the right in the picture by floating the furniture on the rug has a balanced appeal also gives tha appearenxe of a larger room and rather than all the heavy furniture crowded on one side creating a lopsidded look. the chair is nice & maybe to big for the room. add a couple of end tables tables and a round coffee table. its a all too square , by adding a round piece of furniture with give it balance in the sitting area .

additionally maybe add some greenery and a small sitting area by the windows where the sofa is now in the pic. adding duette remote control shades has many color and fabric options to consider. duette shades also have R-22 insulation factor to consider the savings on heating and or air conditioning espenses- if applicable. .
