I would try to find a ceramic tile quarter round to cover it, so it would look intentional.

Jeanne’s idea is nice. But, what about the end of the field tile? Does it curve out?

Im not sure what you mean by curve out but the subway tile ends and the is schluter tiles ending that run. He gave me the cooktop cutout, too bad he didnt use that to do what he did. I do have a granite specialist coming to look at it. i am curious if epoxy fill tinted to match in some areas would help. my husband saiys just put a cutting board there. i just have to consider options if any first. It looks like that filler was used because the wall isn’t straight & they wanted the counter edge over the front of cabs to be straight. It also looks like you have a pencil tile trim filling the inside corner at the end of the tile. I think bpath is wondering if that edge is part of the end tiles but I don’t think it is. This last view you’ve shown us makes me see that the widest end of that filler tile isn’t nearly as wide as it looks in your first pics. I’m kind of agreeing with your husband - put something on the counter there & you won’t see that filler piece. If you use a pencil tile trim piece there then you might create new problems - like what about the back edge of the rest of the kitchen counter? Do you add that piece all around? You’d have to or the filler piece will stick out as odd since it’s only in one place. What decor do you put on your counters? Do you have a long basket? French bread long? What about canisters or a fruit or veggie bowl? I’d see what the granite specialist says & if any of the solutions involve removing the bottom row of tile to do something to the filler then I’d just cover it & know that it adds character to your home! Is your home an older build? As in vintage old?

I'm not optomistic about how much better a granite tech is going to get that to look.

KW and Joseph our house typical tract build in Florida. I am getting used to looking at it now. I know it is the I’m doing this little bit of remodeling and and I think all is going to go well and then it does not and the shock of oh no how to fix. i had remodeled this kitchen 16 years ago and i just added upper cabinets nowto twke them to the ceiling. They match perfectly and grateful for that as that could of been a bit if another problem. One granite guy said i could prob release that whole granite run on the cooktop run and push it further back into the wall. At that point I felt like ok so a cutting board or basket sits there. Not the end if the world just disappointment it didnt go as I planned. part of the story. I do have 2 divots where the stone crumbled when backsplash was being removed. He can epoxy fill them and he said maybe do something to the filler line on the ”problem area”. Thanks for listening

cardamon - remodeling projects are so stressful! So much $$ & you have a vision of the results because of how easy they make things look on the TV shows. But, I’ve learned that one needs to expect the unexpected & likely there will always be some damage or unexpected problem during the project. It seems like if that whole length of counter were pushed back into the wall that the result would be a noticable crooked edge along the front of the cabinet. Your granite pattern is really pretty & my bet is that if you place canisters or some decor item in front or close to the outlets that’s what your eye will see & register when looking at that stretch.

I agree with KW. Get some decor on your countertops. Dont go overboard with it. Pick a few things with some bright accent color. All that will draw your eye and you after a short time, you wont even think about the narrow strip there.
