I am excited! Leonard has a few blooms left and for the first time ever on any daylily……..I have a rebloom scape……on Leonard!

It's difficult to take pics in the hot sun now. Such a waste of beautiful blooms. Are you planting a tree in your yard? I like the pic of Royal Invitation. I would not say that Blood has held well in the heat, but there certainly are others that fare worse. And the heat this year is extreme.

Sherry - It's good to know Leonard reblooms as far north as you are!

Mantis - I have two good sized trees, and one of them gives afternoon shade to a few daylilies I have planted in front of my deck. I don't plan to add any trees.

Miss Goldie Golddigger loves you. Whatever shortcomings All Things To All Men may have, that lady sure appreciates you.........The color of Wonderful is not only a beautiful pink, but also has a nice rounded form in the picture.....My third favorite is your Grandma's Smile seedling. Royal Invitation is indeed a wonderful lavender! I also like Blood of the Martyrs and All Things to All Men. Too bad about the splotchiness. As for seedlings, White Tooth X Skater #4 is my favorite.

Maryl and Kate - Miss Goldie does put on quite a show in the late season. But it is what Mantis calls a "space hog," and its tall foliage and scapes shade out the daylilies on either side of it.

Maryl - I do love The Color of Wonderful, and it seems to love this climate. Scapes are well-budded (high teens) with some 33 inches tall this time. It never made the 31 registered inches in Nashville. And it more than doubles in increase here too. Today I noticed the number of rebloom scapes has gone to eight. So it will likely carry the crown of best rebloomer here for 2026.

Maryl and Kate - Thanks for the love on the Grandma's Smile seedling! It's been a favorite of mine since its first bloom, and I finally have some offspring from it growing in cups.

Brad, Kate and Sherry - Royal Invitation varies in lavender color depending on the temperature, and I like all its looks.

Kate and Sherry - I've been disappointed with the Pink Extraordinaire seedling this season. For two weeks early on, it could not open because of low overnight temperatures. Then when we had the miserable week of heat index in the hundreds, it faded horribly. I never did get a decent photo of it. I'm happy it has three instant rebloom scapes - still hoping for a bloom as pretty as in past seasons.

Brad - I was so happy to see White Tooth 4 with rebloom scapes. It was always a superb rebloomer in Nashville, but last year here did not rebloom. I'm glad to know it can rebloom here with ample rain.

As usual, you always have the prettiest pinks! I am not usually a fan of lavender, but Royal Invitation is lovely. White Tooth X Skater seedling is pretty and what a bonus that it has all those rebloom scapes.

These are lovely pics. Royal Invitation is one I would pick. I have to go look it up. Upper 90's back here with the humidity. I just came back in after cutting back lavender plants a couple of other perennials and I am soaking wet. I took maybe 2 pics with my phone. No deadheading this morning.

Julia and Nancy - Royal Invitation is short, although often two or three inches taller than registered for me. It's one of my favorite Emmerichs.

Julia - Yes, the heat is back here too. I got outside at 6:30 for some weeding while it was still in the 70s.
