Do you have a vision/inspo for the final kitchen look?

Light bright White kitchen with Knotty Alder and Oil rubbed bronze sounds farmhouse to me.

Mixing hardware wouldn't be my choice. But it's your home, do what you like.

The below images show my cabinet drawings for the kitchen. Perimeter cabinets will be the warm white in the lower left. Disregard the upper right white with a glaze. I was thinking of that but decided against.

Upper left is the alder island color. The third picture is the quartzite I’m thinking of doing. The flooring is below the wood samples.

I’m not opposed to doing just one color pull on the cabinetry. Just trying to get opinions as to what that pull color could be. It looks like a lot of people are doing a warm brass but I want timeless not trendy.The house is on a golf course. Has a big stone fireplace and like I said a lot of knotty alder throughout.Going with a neutral paint…Sherwin Williams Canvas Tan.

What are your appliances? Stainless? What is the kitchen sink? What is the faucet at kitchen sink?

Outside hardware is irrelevant! there is no law that states you must mix metals. As far as I am concerned? Way too much hand wring goes into this . In the kitchen? Appliances, especial;y stainless ( and I would recommend no other ) count as one finish. Now.....what other finish best suits your look, should you want that, and it is one answer/one finish.

You rarely need two finishes for cabinet hardware -unless setting off an island? Matters nit, as It can NOT be installed until cabinetry is in place ( the buggy goes in back lol ).

A bathroom need not match a kitchen, and PLUMBING selections drive baths.

In any case, your selections suggest a warm , traditional feel, and cabinet hardware at this point? Not a worry not even a question...yet

The most important thing in ANY kitchen? Your layout,,,,,,,, appliances, storage and function.!!! harmony of flooring, paint and stain finishes, and COUNTER tops. Then...backsplashes and kitchen hardware up the design road.

Be sure to do the tests on the quartzite to avoid mislabelling. Lemon juice and scratch the surface with a glass tile. Quaetzite slab can be used as backspash. No labor tiling/grouting expense. This can offset the difference in material expense. The install folds into the counter install.

I like Highland Ridge by Amerock for a bronzey finish...but boy are they pricey

I also like another hardware from many years ago by Top Knobs....but I'm not sure if they offer it anymore. I think it was Rust....had a textured finish in a darker brown finish. Was really pretty.

Personally I would stay away from the coppery bronze finishes....they look more dated to me.

Oh I actually mentioned above the sink and faucet are stainless and brushed nickel. All appliances are stainless as well. So I’ll count that as one finish. I’ll hold off until the cabinets are finished and in place.

The description of a traditional warm home is accurate. I’d like to find a cabinet hardware finish that works on both the alder and the white. Thx.

Wrought iron, knotty alder, ? Suggest a country Tuscan feel. Warm, need not be dark, Warm can mean warm colors, ...and I might consider doors throughout and how MUCH a message in Knotty alder, you'd like,

"Yes the tile is being replaced with a larger profile tile that is more of a limestone look porcelain tile from. A strong contender is Marrazi Uniche Beige the sample on the right below. It has some variation in the tile which I need for dog 🐾🐾.

The walls are being painted SW Canvas Tan which is much lighter than the walls when this photo was taken. Except the walls in the dining kitchen area is going to be SW Urban Jungle."

I’m so sorry to confuse everyone and yes… probably myself. I had a look at the Houzz support pages and will try and do better on how and where to combine posts. I always thought one should post in the particular subject area flooring, kitchen etc. Now I see you can post across the areas. Thanks Jan for the tip!

I haven’t been back to my Prescott area home as I had planned just yet because our flooring material had not come in and I recently had a hip replacement which is still troubling me. We usually drive up and back in a day which doesn’t help.

We bought this house on an area golf course as a second home for the hot Arizona summers. We didn’t intend to do such an extensive remodel. We were thinking about replacing three bedrooms of carpet with engineered wood and painting the interior. That was going to be it!

That being said, I liked the general colors in the home…lighter perimeter cabinets and darker island. But the cabinets were staggered at the top and distressed with glaze which I found to be dated. The granite was dated. So we approached the builder of my three year-old home here in Goodyear who owns a cabinet company and he’s got all new cabinets and island in production. I would have kept the flooring but there were several cracked files I could not source which in a hallway could have been a tripping hazard. So I took the opportunity to lighten up the tile. So yes, as you suggest the house may not be that different when all is said and done but it will be looking newer and refreshed then the 14-15 year old house it is.

Sorry for all the confusion and as always I appreciate the advice and constructive criticism.
