Took two weeks off, back today

I stepped away for 2 weeks…..back now. Lots of daylilies finishing up. I have two late bloomers putting up scapes. I am waiting for rebloom flowers on Leonard and Primal Scream. I HAD three huge clumps of Mary Todd. Yesterday two Marys were removed and a few perenials added. I am waiting for a purple Goldner seedling to be added to the space with the perennials. I got bored by the look. Maryl and Julia were my inspiration to add more perenials. I love their gardens.

I finally got a good photo of Creamsicle Candy. Sunshine makes it impossible for taking a good photo. prolific in the short time here.

Coincidently, I had two 2 year old daylilies not bloom for me this year. They bloomed last year so I have no clue what the deal was.......Believe it or not this is the first time since i began growing daylilies that I had a no show on a previous bloomer........Cameroon Night was pretty with the Hosta, but maybe a more hardy purple could be substituted?.........Mayl

I love the photo of Laura Harwood-color is great. Savannah Debutante looks great with the plants in the background. Jury’s Out looks like a wonderful plant.

Glad your back Sherry. Laura Harwood never did well for me in NYS. Yours looks so lovely with that deep purple. Debra's seedling looks good as does Creamsicle Candy. I think you will enjoy having other perennials mixed in. It is always a work in progress at least here in my garden.

Creamsicle Candy is a beauty! I'm surprised you are still growing that seedling since you've removed so many daylilies. Does it perform well for you? The Jury's Out looks like it will provide lots of color after the others are done.

My Laura Harwood did well this year too. Yours sure looks great. I love the coloration of Magic Dancer.

Debra, the seedling performs a little better each season. It does well enough to earn its spot. I did remove Coco, it never increased. The pink seedling may be in the best budded category for me, I havent started counting yet

Julia, I do have few perennials in my daylily beds….will be adding more. 😉

How High the Moon looks so pristine. Savanah Debutante's cantaloupe color is one of my favorites.......... Glad to have you back and look forward to more plant combinations. You had one that always caught my attention: a purple with a hosta (Cameroon Night?), so you do have some nice combos already...........Maryl

Maryl, glad you remembered that combo. Cameroon Night, yes, didn't bloom. The foliage is smaller. It’s an evergreen. I’m wondering if its on its way out of here. My Cameroons didnt bloom, same story, another evergreen. So disappointing.
