Hello! We just bought a house that is about 10 years old and there is a pullout cabinet that I believe is meant for trash but it’s an awkward size. The cabinet is 21” deep, 17” wide, and 19.5” tall (inside compartment). A 35 qt (8.75 gallon) trash can will not fill up the space so I feel like the can would be unstable in the cabinet and a 40 qt (10 gallon) can is too tall. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue buying a home around the same age and what you ended up doing. ChatGBT suggests putting the 8.75 gallon in there and then utilizing the extra space to hang gloves, fly swatter, etc but I don’t like the idea of an unstable can…it would be nice if it were an opening that would fit a standard can like the newer cabinets have. Until I can find a good solution I’ve just taped a bag in place 😀 Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
