Kitchen Layout with Four Doorways

Hi! We are planning a complete kitchen renovation and would really appreciate your help with the layout.

The room has an unusual shape and four openings:

  • The exterior door on the top wall could be replaced with a window (we have other exits).
  • The door on the bottom wall could be closed off, but it cannot be relocated.
  • The opening on the right leads to the dining room. This doorway still needs to be built, so its position can be adjusted slightly.
  • The door on the left leads to the pantry and cannot be moved.

The room also has a vaulted ceiling, as it is part of an older house. All plumbing and electrical systems will be replaced, so the location of the appliances and utilities is still quite flexible.

We would like to find the most efficient and practical way to use the available space while maintaining comfortable circulation between all the openings.

The kitchen should ideally include:

  • (Built-in?) Refrigerator
  • Sink
  • Range or cooktop
  • Built-in oven with a microwave above
  • Dishwasher
  • Under-counter waste and recycling bins
  • An island with seating for two or three people
  • A concealed pantry door integrated into the kitchen cabinetry

We do not need a dining table in the kitchen.

We would be grateful for some layout suggestions, including alternatives without an island if space is limited.

Thank you very much for your ideas!
