The only reason to have something would be night time entertaining. Those windows would become huge black holes that suck the light out--which if you are like us we don't notice or care about when it's just us...but when entertaining the room seems very dark.

For these times the shade I see in the middle pane seems perfect.

The way to fix the feeling of a black hole at night is to have good landscape lighting outside to highlight plantings and trees, close to the house and further out.

The motorized shades seem to be a smart choice... useful and convenient.

I actually like the window style... and I do not mind the asymmetry. Plus, for me, in this case, the expansiveness and views would be everything.

I would just leave it. Or, since you are removing the chandelier, you could consider adding sconce(s). Battery operated sconces are also available.

Yes, if the motorized shades work for you, why take them out? As chispa suggested, additional landscape on the outside will be useful for additional privacy for the night time.

I would leave the blinds AS IS. But, paint out the whole window wall including the trim a dark color to blend the whole wall with the fireplace stone. The color of the blind.

Paint out the rest of the room a soft creamy tone, trims ceiling and walls, no contrasting trim. I'd leave the Beam a feature.

Thanks all! I was planning on painting. I like the idea of all of it being a soft cream. Beam is staying as is. The existing motorized blinds are kind of a mushroom color so will find a cream that works with that.

Painting walls and ceiling the same color might eliminate some of the "fun house" character of your room. If privacy isn't a concern will suggest you keep the window covering as is and just enjoy the view.

Keep the motorized blinds and done no need for any other covering. I agree painting that ceiling would be my first thought

Those windows would skeeve me out at night, regardless of how much of the property outside the window belongs to you.

I would leave the blinds, remove the sconce, and drape over the windows.. Keep the drapes open most of the time but close them after dark. Drapes would be a solid cream color. The sconce seems to call attention to the odd wall/ceiling shape and off-centered windows, so I’d take it away.

I agree with suggestions to paint all walls, ceiling, and trim a soft cream to blend with the fireplace.
