Aw, Mary. That's sweet of you. I do think we like/have similar styles. I think it looks great. I noticed it is similar in color to the carpet, and that seems like a good thing to me!

That's beautiful masonry. I'd use a light touch. The limewash below looks like a great suggestion.

I had something similar done on the fireplace brick at my previous home. I went for a shade darker than I initially thought. Glad I did because even the darker looked much lighter than I thought it would.

So...maybe you would prefer to have the color similar to your wall color?

Romabio is very popular and is used on exteriors too. If your contractor isn't familiar with it, move on to someone else. You don't want someone learning at your expense.

The lady I have hired I would catergorize her as a specialty painter/artist. She does unique finishes on walls some looking “old world” if that makes sense lol. She does fireplaces, kitchen cabinets and even furniture. I did ask her about the Rombio she does not use that particular brand but can achieve that look with a different product she uses.

Ask her for pictures of the work she has done with her process. It’s not too hard a process. Or if you can visit some of her work. Or talk to a. Kirby she has done similar work with.

@Flo Managan …. Before I saw your explanation re “talk to a Kirby” I laughed out loud 😂. Isn’t a Kirby a vacuum, as I recall? I’ll have to look up.
