Hey everyone,
I’m planning to finish my basement this year and could use some feedback on optimizing the layout.
The main challenge is that the basement is narrow. The floor space from wall to wall is 11 feet wide (excluding the unexcavated areas) and fairly consistent throughout the bssement. To the right of the bathroom rough-in are three metal pillars, so that area isn't as open as it seems.
I want to create an open-concept flow that acts as a second living room/entertainment zone.
So far, the plan is to build out the 3-piece washroom at the rough-in and put a straight bar/kitchenette in the top left. The main challenge I'm facing is where to position a comfortable seating area that can accommodate 5 to 8 people without being jammed too close to the TV in an 11-foot-wide space.
P.s. I have a Sump Pump on the bottom right.
