I consider your "rooms" to be one single room in an open floor plan, so I think they should all have the same type of blinds. I think it would be odd to have different types of blinds in the dining area, living area and patio doors.

well the dining room and living room will be the same, I'm just not sure what to do about the mounting issue with the dining room. I went by Home Depot yesterday to check out the blinds in person. They are basically the ones they can cut to size. Which for 100 bucks isn't bad. But if I've gone this long without anything on the dining room window, maybe I should think if I want to get new blinds for both living room and dining room at the same time, possibly getting something better than the least expensive from Home Depot.

If the only issue is that the blind would project slightly past the trim, an inside mount can still work, provided the brackets have enough flat depth and the product meets the manufacturer's minimum mounting-depth requirement. “Fully recessed” depth is a separate measurement, so a blind does not always need to sit perfectly flush to be securely inside-mounted.

Measure the opening at the top, middle, and bottom, check that it is reasonably square, and note handle or trim interference. If the minimum depth is not available, an outside mount is the safer choice and can also reduce light and heat gaps. Matching the top height and material across the adjoining spaces will usually look more intentional than forcing the same mount type on openings with different construction.

Thank you. those blinds do look like they have a nice tight weave. I just received some samples from another brand and have them hanging in the widow to see which is the least see through. For the big window, living room, I'd have to split the blinds in 3 and for the DR, I might have to split also. Been playing around with CHAT gpt and that really helps a lot ot get a visual.

Since it appears you have a slider patio door and window vertical blinds in a light filtering fabric might work. If you don’t need to open completely you should still be able to see a filtered outdoor view

Valinta: those are french doors that lead out to the patio which we use as our entrance. The glass pane on each door is 25 inches wide. I will try to add another picture showing the wall area with the french doors.
