There is no decorative advantage to this. Lower the rod ( both ) to below the crown molding. I do not see the point of even the two panels in a rather uninspired fabric and to touch ceiling simply calls attention to fan and light in the ceiling.

You could change rod to one that mounts on ceiling. That would accomplish your objectives. Personally, I would explore glass door enclosure and add nice art and pretty towels for an easier to maintain and use this relatively small space. Add fun art piece if you want some joy in here.

I do not like them at the ceiling as it creates too many heights, crown, drapery, shower rod. I would buy rod extension for the rods you have and lower them. Maybe some clear ones so they do not show?

IMO a perfect setting for a nice glass shower screen, you do not need 2 shower curtains for sure and sometimes tou just can't have what you want only what you need

You can remove the panels. They serve no decorative or functional purpose. One panel looks too close to the toilet.

I think they look odd this way. Just buy a pretty shower curtain. Keep the plain plastic one inside and get a fancier one for sitting outside the tub.

I agree with red rider that's what I do but I also hate a cloth curtain touching the toilet just in case someone messed up the toilet and didn't clean up

Is the inside shower curtain rod mounted to the Tile surround? Is it a bowed rod?

I would forget the decorative grommet panels all together.

Remove the hardware, patch the holes and repaint the crown, ceiling, and replace the vent cover with a new white grill. Fresh and clean.

Buy an attractive fabric shower curtain for the shower.

Fwiw i hang my curtain rod very close to the ceiling and then buy a custom length and width curtain and liner from Etsy - hits just above the floor for a clean crisp look

A quick search on Etsy for a fabric curtain showed some great options. Worth a look.
