We have a mountain townhome and we are going to renovate the kitchen, cabinets, flooring, countertop, lighting

and appliances. I am trying to decide on color of cabinets and granite or quartz countertop color. We were thinking of doing an engineered wood floor in the kitchen. There is a load bearing wall which we were thinking of removing but have decided to leave it instead of installing a support beam. There are no windows in the kitchen so looking to do a light color. We have upgraded the living room furniture, the sliding door is diffeent but I do not have photos and will not be at the townhome for another two weeks. Great project!

Not a pro, but I'd focus on function first before getting caught up in materials selection and colors. FWIW here are some things I would want-

-More recessed lighting (and to get rid of what I think is a square fluorescent fixture but I could be wrong), plus undercabinet lighting

-more recessed fridge so it doesn't intrude so much on kitchen - maybe counter depth can accomplish this or perhaps you can steal space from behind wall and recess it more - I think this would make a huge difference in how the kitchen feels

-cabinets to the ceiling for a clean look

-pull out trash to the right of the sink

-single bowl sink + large nice faucet

-working hood that vents outside + new location for microwave (perhaps in pantry?)

-get counter bar down to one level

-get wood flooring in family room & kitchen to prevent a hard flooring transition

Are you leaving everything (appliances etc) in the same location and just changing materials or are you looking to change the layout?

I'd run the cabinets all the way to the ceiling in a flat front style, no raised panel. Keep it simple.

You could do a painted cabinet in BM Pale Oak. or another light color that you love.

White Quartz countertop. Counter depth refrigerator.

Keep the flooring light, it will brighten the space.

I like your suggestions. Family likes the carpet since it is in NH where the winters are very cold. I have pushing for wood floors.

I am unable to vent out since kitchen is interior and there is a connected townhome.

Lowe's offers Sherwin Williams paint colors. SW Drift of Mist is similar to BM Pale Oak, if you're interested. little sample jars are available. it's nice to see them painted on the walls in your own space to see how the natural light affects them.

It's a lovely home but it doesn't exactly say "mountain home." Am thinking it would be good to include some rustic elements in the decor. That might be a bit more difficult to do with such a light color scheme. Adding wood flooring might "rusticate" the place up a bit.

We need a lot more info from you and also a to scale plan of that kitchen every inch. Then we need to know your style and needs in a kitchen. You really are stuck with the actual foot print so every inch is needed . IMO Ikea 10x better then Lowes but how far to the ikea store? I will say granite is for sure a better choice than quartz and for sure in a mountain home .Wall color last choice to make . I would aslo think engineered wood for all floors and then nice rugs for warmth .

Under floor heating if possible. Personally I like a very large double kitchen sink since the kitchen people in my family are allin the same place at the same time.
