Thanks to Gloria Steinem and a handful of others, women began to see open doors to their future where there were none before.

I was surprised to see this this morning and surprised to see that she was 92. She always just seemed to me to be there for us. RIP

That was a blow to me this morning. It seems like every person who recently died was an icon of mine. I remember Glamour magazine back when I had a subscription in the 60s, and she was this beautiful young woman with long, straight brown hair framing her face and large sunglasses. Then she started her women's activism journey. She was a dominant force from that time until the present. One of my heroes all these decades.

92 is a good run, but it's still too soon, IMO.

Friend of mine called her a "Shero" rather than "Hero".

What a woman. What a life.

Recently many of the achievements of her and others have been undone. Personally, I am enraged by the misogyny, bigotry and cruelty displayed by the current regime.

We all must push back to restore the societal and civil rights gains ruthlessly overturned. Younger members of our society must pay attention, get informed, join forces and mount serious and strong efforts to regain and maintain what has just has been gutted.

She was an inspiration. It is incumbent of us all, and especially younger generations to stay inspired and carry on.

RIP Gloria , and thank you for 'Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions' which was so inspirational to me in my early 20s ! I remember the essay 'I was a playboy bunny' , so bold !

She was on cherry bomb podcast last year and they re-aired it today... she was so good! You've gotta hear her story about Marlene Dietrich if you don't know it already :)
