Yum! I love beans and rice, nearly any beans.

I don't think I've ever had plantains that weren't chips from a bag, I've never seen them here. Sauteed in butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar? How could that possibly be bad? :-)

Our grocery stores always have a big table full in produce section. A funny story I had to talk to the manager and make them STOP taking out the ones turning black lol! They have to be solid black and getting quite soft before they are good. I get the blackest ones then finish in a paper ir plastic sack then refrigerate . They keep for weeks and weeks at that point. I am surprised they disn’t ever put them in your Misfits box.

Look for them next time you are in another town with a Hispanic community. 🙏c

I often think I’d do fine as a peasant because I also love rice and beans (as long as they’re flavorful).
