Something with a Black and White colored pattern would look beautiful!

Yes, a simple black and white rug would be great for the space as Pollard Professional Services suggested.

I'd choose something like this, neutral but with some interest.

Get a rug large enough to fill the space with 6-8 inches of flooring showing areound the perimeter. You don't need another rug for the patio door if the rug fills the space.

This looks like an AI image, very neutral, could go in many directions. Can you provide photos of the actual space and any actual furnishings/items that are staying? Without seeing the surroundings, it's hard to say what would be appropriate.

I rarely use a rug under a dining table they need to be so big to make sure the chairs stay on the rug that usually it makes the rug too big. In your case I think a rug would create a tripping hazard coming off the step down

Thanks for the recommendations - it’s AI bc the table is on order.

Trying to get a rug before Thanksgiving.

If you will have rug for Thanksgiving and beyond, I (no kidding) would opt for a multi-color. Stains are hard to remove from a rug that size, let alone a lot of people stepping around the and on the rug. Your floors are beautiful and so much easier to wipe up a spill on the floors. I, obviously, don’t like rugs under table, but that is just me.

Since the table is still on order, I'd mark its actual dimensions on the floor with painter's tape before ordering a rug. Then pull a chair out as if someone were getting up and check where its back legs land. That will tell you more than the rendering about the rug size and the space by the step.

I wouldn't buy matching rugs for the table and slider. A patterned dining rug and a plain, low-profile door mat in one of its darker colours would work together without looking like a set. Is the slider right beside the dining area?

Katelyn, since the table is still on order and you want the rug before Thanksgiving, I’d tape out the exact table footprint and pull each chair back as if someone were getting up. For a dining rug, allow roughly 24–30 inches beyond each table edge so the rear chair legs stay on the rug. Because you also have the step and slider, keep a clear strip of flooring at the step and use a low-pile or flatweave rug. I wouldn’t make the slider mat an exact match; repeating one darker colour from the dining rug will look coordinated without feeling like a set.

Instead of rushing to buy, take your time and be sure to measure.

Reference your wall color, wood tones, art and accessories, the set’s style and what will connect the room and adjoining spaces. If waiting to buy, and would like suggestions, provide a picture of the set/your room and you’ll get more helpful suggestions. Look on line as well so you can envision the bigger picture (mat at slider can just be a solid complementary color).
