Can you try turning your bed?

Turning it in which way?my room is long but not very big

Can you post pics of the rest of the room so we can offer suggestions in line with the look and feel of what you already have? It seems by your post that you are quite happy with the other bits?

Here is one more side to my room

Problem is my table would also have to go to the smaller side of my room. This would make my workspace smaller

I agree, the bed is too scrunched back in that alcove. But it would be the perfect place for a reading nook

It's a "general rule" that when you enter your bedroom you should be looking at the foot of the bed.

That desk could fit more easily into the alcove than the bed does. Your work area won't be too small in the alcove.

Well then, can you paint it? Try finding a related color in all of your artwork that you can match paint to and paint the recessed area. Gold or teal, maybe??? What kind of work do you do that requires more space than a desk top and chair? Another option is to turn your bed to face the slider and install something to divide the space. Search the box above under Photos for headboard+room divider to get other ideas. If nothing else you could frame the alcove with curtains to match those at the slider for a sense of entering a more secluded space.

I feel that my room would be too cluttered if i put my bed in the larger area.

Keep it in the smaller area but turn it to face the window and put a "headboard" like the bookcase above to separate the two areas but let light come through into the larger space. If you don't turn it.you could add curtains to separate the two areas at night if you wanted. Here's one in a closet with teal paint.

Also, it is a screen door by the alcove, not a window. This also limits my ability as to what I can and cannot do.

The beauty of posting design dilemmas on Houzz is that you get ideas that maybe you never thought of or ones that push you out of your comfort zone a bit. Do you actually use the screen door in the alcove?

Turn the bed 90 degrees within the alcove. Float it basically in the middle of the alcove. Face it either way you want it; toward the rest of the room or toward your patio door. If you face it toward the patio door, then use a bookcase type divider as the head of the bed. If you face it toward the rest of the room, use draperies at the alcove opening to give it a visual separation from your workspace. The pictures decoenthusiate gave you as examples are spot on for a solution I think you would like if you are open to it.

I would do floor to ceiling and wall to wall white shears with light blocking white behind the shears.

You could define the bedding area from the working area with a different paint color.

Move the picture that is currently over the dresser to the head of the bed and put a large mirror over the dresser.

A taller bedside stand and taller light would also be appealing.

Add a rug between the dresser and desk to bring the colors of the bedding area together with the adjoining space.

I kept everything the same. However, i bought jigsaw puzzles and hung them up in my room making everything look more balanced. I like this new detail :)
