I was thinking a gray subway tile? Or a matte gray stone?

I like the matte grey idea -- stone or porcelain - maybe 12 x 12's 12" wide, with with height cut to create an accent band running through your outlets. Some black & stainless glitz in the accent band. ...and change your outlet plates to stainless (black outlets, etc.). With stainless cabinet door-drawer hardware. Have fun! Mark

It's actually the same color gray as underneath but the light makes it look a hue of blue! I was thinking something along these lines. Here's another angle of the kitchen.

Yes the hardware is next! We just have to attach them! I like the white but was thinking something more that will pop with the cabinets but nothing too busy like the granite! I

I like the tile at upper right. Its horizontal presence will help balance the strong vertical lines in your tall upper cabinetry. ...and it's got a bit of the glitz I was thinking of. ...and will work well in the space over your sink.

Thank you! It's my first time remodeling a kitchen! The hardest thing was not having widows in the kitchen!

We have one size of the hardware. 8" stainless steel bar pulls, do you think we should go with 4" Handles for the small drawers?

Probably. ...or maybe use 6" if they are available, on all the drawers. BTW...Be careful of getting pockets, belt loops, etc. caught on open ended drawer pulls.

I like the grey glass subway tile you posted. Classic and won't go out of style,plus the reflective glass will bounce light in a windowless room. I don't like the black and white at all with your granite, takes away from the gorgeous granite and is way too busy for it. Lovely loft space!

The herringbone is gorgeous, it's the diagonal pattern. This sample is from Daltile's 'Stone A La Mod' line. Check it out, there are some other cool ones in that line as well. Keep in mind a pattern like that would cost more to have installed as its more labor intensive.

Here's a couple more glass ones I think would work really well in your kitchen to bounce more light. These are both a glossy finish glass, available matte too.
