Since you have such a great view and your sofa is floral, IMO the curtains should be solid and would follow leelee's advice.

With such lovely windows, I would go with simple light or natural color woven wood/bamboo shades which would be mounted inside from below the top section of the window.

I hope you don't want to cover this entire wall in fabric (curtains). It'll start to feel like a cave. There are other options for covering windows, such as shades (roman, woven wood, cell) or just valances with sheers, all mounted inside the window frame. It looks like a pretty view outside. Simple Roman shades would be lovely. I agree with Chap De Laine's Interiors that curtains, however simple, would be too overpowering. Clean lined Romans will add warmth without distracting from that gorgeous view.

I think with shades you would lose the lovely rectangle shape at the top of your windows. I would use full length, solid color curtains on either side of your windows, hung on a rod above the windows. That way you keep your entire view, but soften the edges. Use a color that blends with your wall color without too much contrast.

what about wooden shutters ,,,they can be opened or closed...they are clean and neat
