different than leathered. leathered has texture. Honed black granite in particular attracts fingerprints and smudges. it is more difficult to maintain than the polished look.

I had it installed for client and sealed with Miracle 511 impregnator, no problems

I have leathered/antiqued black granite. It is beautiful. You cant see any smudges or finger prints. I clean it with granite cleaner.

Jmitchel - does it still have a matte finish? I was told I would compromise the finish if we sealed it.

Texielevy - if it's a rental, have you looked at caesarstone? They may have something

The sealer I used did not change the finish. We were concerned about the effect and tested samples before applying.

Polished absolute black will show fingerprints and streaks as well. Such is the nature of dark and uniform surfaces.

I have ceaserstone in a bathroom and laundry room. It looks great and so easy to care for. You can clean it with anything. Worry free.

I was thinking about using this granite in polished. Will it looked dated? I love the look of it with white cabinets.

Not at all, it's like a black dress! Also, the polished Absolute Black is one of the easyest stone to tace care of, even if it shows fingerprints you can clean wine stain, mustard and all the others marks.

We're planning on getting Absolute Black honed granite countertops for our new white kitchen... The dealer that we're purchasing it from does not recommend that we do so for the very reasons mentioned above. I LOVE the look of this product. Don't even know what I would choose second to this? Maybe Carrara Marble?

We have a black Silestone that is awesome. Requires no special care at all and always looks great. Better than granite, in my opinion!
