Meganalissa, i like the idea, you mean brigth white o ivory ? If any one can help puting all this obtions with the desing programs you have will be much easier to picture

White curtains would add airiness to the living room. But I was thinking that the walls are a lighter cool grey and there is quite a sense of lightness in the room already with the white vase, white Chinese drum side table, pale grey and white chairs and glass top coffee table, would it be better to add more visual weight (if there is such a concept) instead to ground the room?

I really like the striped ones with the couch but not with the chairs (the greys clash). The ivory ones seem to stick out too much with all the furnishings but that might just be the photoshopping. I like the darker option but not sure about navy. I had posted some charcoal drapes and some natural linen. If you're up to it groveraxle.... ;)

i would suggest a large art canvas which has tones of gray/yellow to add some colour to your room. Check out www.greatbigcanvas.com. I would not suggest a mirror.

The horizontal stripes ... look more "sporty" than elegant or restful. I still like your first choice. I think if you add another pair and have them hanging fully, their pattern will be more subtle and just right to complement everything you have already. If not, plain white or ivory is hard to beat.

I like the white. It helps your furniture make a statement rather than the drapes. But I'd choice the same color white as your white blanket so it's more subtle. (They won't glow as much in real life as the photoshop picture groveraxle posted)

Three more:

All the curtains make the room look very different. Achemeachi will make the final decision! I was wondering if the chairs would look better facing the windows? I find they clash with some of the curtains. There's alot going on on that side of the room and they seem to block the passageway. Just a thought!

I don't mind where it is now. That's a rather artistic placement. It would not look right hanging horizontally.

You have such a good eye ... the natural would look great with your rug (and be super practical should you fall in love with another accent color) but the yellow is nice too.

Did you end up using the pink canvas for the new painting or start fresh? That pink one was great and I hate to think of it "gone."

Lessismoore my pink painting is gone, i painteded it over sadly :( !, it was beautiful but i can always do it again, for rigth now didn't match with the new deco plus to big for storage........ yes, this took another direccion , my dinningroom is not finish yet, i only got a new table, look much better, take a look

You changed the painting between the first and second postings. Added more purple, a bit of orange, took out the green, yes? I love it; it's perfect!

Don't change your work to suit other people's opinions! It is personal to you.

I like your dining room ,I like your lights ,I would leave them ...your house ,everybody has an option I know .

Love your painting you did a fabulous job. I think it looks perfect. Why don't you do another one for your wall in the dining room that will compliment the one in the living room. You are so talented and it would look awesome. I like the bigger dining room table and I think you could recover your two chairs or just add 2 great pillows for some more color. Your living room is beautiful and I think I love the yellow curtains for that room.

That's the beauty of your talent you can do a painting with one set of colors and if isn't right you can paint over it.

I just read your thread. Your living room is beautiful as is your painting, such talent. I also like your new DR table. I think another painting for the DR would compliment the one in your living room. I do love the yellow drapes but it does lock you in more to that color, should you want to change in the future but I really do like them. You have a good eye, go with your gut and your heart, will not lead you wrong.

Go with the natural curtains. They are a fixture. You change add or delete yellow in the future in accessories.

You know what you are doing. Wonderful painting. I like the mosaic mirrors suggested above and think you should change your end chairs in dining room in some way. Perhaps add yellow pillows to them? If you can exchange them, do so. Perhaps they come in a lighter color.

Even artists need a little help when decorating. Something about decorating is very complicated. It can start out right and go wrong in an instant.

If the mosaic mirrors are not in the budget, by all means, do your own painting.

Thank you for the complements! I'm agree with you Ramona, the velvet chairs are too dark, i found them in west elm in really good price and mach exactly my velvet gray sofa in the livingroom but eventualy i can upholstery with a nice ligther color

I'd put a mirror facing outside and an artifact on wall facing kitchen.

@ mosmood, i tryed to put a mirrow there but reflect the oak cabinets of the kitchen, i want to put a sunburts mirrow in white in the other wall facing the door

Use the mirror to add space to the room , by reflecting outside in , using it to reflect the kitchen isn't a bad idea also as it would connect that part of the room and its a beautiful kitchen , also i agree with the mhi interiors how about changing the colour of the wall , i would match the wall to the vase on the table , i see the chairs match the grey of the tiles this would complete the room you can find the perfect shade by using our app snap a picture of the vase match and buy in just a few clicks its free heres the link mopacha good luck
