Beautiful room. What is the color on the ceiling?
The color revere pewter looks so beautiful in this picture. I want to try it but since I am used to living in an all white house I feel like this color is too dark for me. I am so confused because it doesn't look dark in any of the pictures I have seen in Houzz.com but yet I painted a few samples on my white wall and it looks super dark. Are my eyes just too used to seeing white or is there an explanation for this. Thank you for help.

Hospitalet - The thing to remember with any neutral tone is that it will become markedly lighter or darker depending on the natural light that fills the space. In this image, the entire wall just outside of the right side of the photo is a wall of windows. The room's openness also lends to a much lighter space.

If your room is less open or has less access to natural light, you might try asking your local paint store to mix this paint color with a white base to lighten the neutral. Best of luck!

Martha.. As a designer I am looking to use a few new color combinations.. I love rever pewter and am working with a builder on a vintage or restoration hardware style home. Have you ever used gray owl and revere pewter together?? Wondering if there will be enough contrast.

We have not used the two together in one project; however, the best way to know is to get samples of both (actual paint, not just a chip) and paint them next to each other in the natural and artificial lighting in the location you're planning to paint to see how they will look. The lighting in a room really makes all the difference, so it's important to see it firsthand. Best of luck!

Graceke Design LLC I'm curious to know if you ended up using those two colors together. My sister has Grey Owl in her kitchen and has been contemplating a more neutral like Revere Pewter for the rest of her house. The Grey Owl ended up looking quite green in our opinion. Pretty but too green for her taste.

Thanks for the question agarcia3201! We have not used those two colors together before, but that doesn't mean that you can't! Just make sure that your furnishings and accessories work with the hue in the space you are working with.

    Best of luck,

Hi Martha - in one of the previous comments you mention that the ceiling is White Dove, but then later comment that the ceiling is 1/4 tint of Revere Pewter. Can you please clarify/confirm the actual ceiling color? I have 1/2 tint of Revere Pewter on my dining room walls, and was thinking about doing 1/4 of the color for the adjacent living room. Thanks!

    Katie,

Thank you so much for catching that, and so sorry to mis-inform you! According to our last updated paint schedule on this home, the ceiling color is the 1/4 tint of Revere Pewter.

    Happy Painting!

I love the paint color, revere pewter and plan to use it along with white dove for my trim. I was wondering if you've ever used full strength revere pewter on the ceiling? I was thinking about doing this in my home with 13 foot and 9 foot ceilings.

I used revere pewter in a house I just remodeled for ceilings and walls. They were 8 foot ceilings but we had a lot of recessed lighting. People loved it!
