I've used this hood on another project, as well. Both homeowners have had positive experiences. I would advise you of one aspect of hood selection that can catch homeowners by surprise--and few appliance stores seem to be warning their customers about. Most jurisdictions are enforcing M1503.4 of the International Residential Code. This code states that makeup air is required to enter the home at approximately the rate that it is exhausted, if the hood's capacity exceeds 400 CFM. With this hood, only the CBI-290A blower stays under that. That said, I would not recommend using an island hood with anything less than 600 CFM. Talk to your contractor about installing a makeup air system "equipped with a means of closure" and on that's "automatically controlled to start and operate simultaneously with the exhaust system."
