Entry Lighting Suggestions

We have a 1988 house that we're updating to be modern with antique/1950s accents (as some of our furniture is). Our foyer is small as it goes directly into the sunken living room. There is currently track lighting, which needs to go.

Would a hanging light look odd there? 1) because it's off center of the ceiling due to the skylight 2) because it would compete with the view when walking in the house. If not, what kind? Would a pendant give off enough light?

Hate to go with another set of track lighting (silver instead of white). But if we do, something unique would be awesome. We're not afraid to go weird or different. Front door is an antique Fire Hose door. Stained glass window next to door is being replaced with frosted glass. Walls are light grey. All baseboards will be tall white MDF.

This is my first Houzz DD post. Looking forward to suggestions!
