I had my 13 year old maple cabinets sanded and restained- big mistake. They just don't look up to date. So I am having them painted next week. I think paint is a much fresher and modern look. Cream sounds nice but you can chose any color. I am going with a taupe. For inspiration, go to a place that sells high end new cabinets and look at some of the colors .
