Just curious if you have kids, going to have kids or kids are older? I have two friends who both regretted getting the bar height tables once they had little ones. Pain for them getting up and down and one of them had pretty tippy chairs too. Not so much fun.
Maybe I'm way wrong on this but the bar height tables seem like they will look outdated sooner than later. They also can make a room look really cramped pretty quick. Hey if you have the right room though and kids aren't an issue, then go for what you like. Look up photos of bar height table here on houzz. That always helps me when I need to make up my mind.

Going that direction, you would be able to pull over the barstools to the table for additional seating.

Thank you so much...we have a four year old and twins that are two years old. That was my main reason for not wanting the bar height and thought would look better. Hubby thinks having all one height is better so people sitting at bar don;t have to look down to people sitting in chair and vice versa....trying to find photos here that show both a bar and kitchen table in the same room to show him.....thanks again for your input (you have my vote!)

A quick note about our experience: We consistently design between 70-90 kitchens/year (for over 34 years) and have designed thousands of kitchens.....We also design full structural including below-grade foundation plans.....Our 2 Chicagoland offices cover the Wisconsin to Indiana borders and we've recently opened a new satellite location in S.W. Michigan.....
Anyway, stay with table height....."pub height" tables/chairs aren't suited for your family and you'll eventually wish you'd have stayed table height.....If hubby really likes them, take him out to the local sports bar every so often!.....Having some fun with you.....Hope this opinion helps.....John & Brigitte

Definitely regular table height. We have an island to eat at, and a regular table height table. I like the variety, and a regular height table is more relaxing. We find that we like to use the island for breakfast and lunch, the table for dinner.
