Tree?

Hi, can you please tell me what tree that is--the one on the left that is turning orange? Thank you.

From the look of the trunk, shape and Fall color of the leaves I would say that is a Crape Myrtle . They revel in full summer sun and rely heavily on the heat of the blazing sun of the South. They do best in zone 8 and above but are hardy to zone 6. There are many varieties to choose from. Choose wisely as there are many different sizes , colors and rates of growth.

I had two Tonto Crape Myrtles go belly up in zone 6 winter 2013. Make sure you only look at the most cold hardy for your zone if your up north.

In zone 6 and above even the most cold-hardy Crape Myrtle varieties will likely die to the ground each winter rendering them useful only as a shrubs, or flowering perennial.

Thanks a lot for the information on the trees. My wife and I are getting ready to work on the landscaping at our new home. We don't have any trees back there currently, and it seems so barren. I bet that one of these Crape Myrtles would look great. http://www.tiptonlandscaping.com
