This is vinyl siding though, correct? I'm curious if you prefer Mastic over Certainteed and how they compare in quality?

Correct. We have used Mastic for awhile now and have had great success. I'm not to familiar with the certainteed product, but I do see it used. Watch the thickness of the siding if you take the vinyl route .44 and better would be your best option. Lp makes a 8 inch lap siding that takes the place of cement siding. Its called LP Smart Siding and comes with 20 year and up paint warranty.

I appreciate your thoughts on this and will research some more. I really love the bold colors but worry about fading. Certainteed carries a Sable Brown that is a tad bit lighter (maybe some dark grey tint?). I am debating. I know vinyl has come a long way. Certainteed has a Monogram line that is highly rated. Thickness is .046 and the panels are extra long to reduce seams.

Hi love this siding - would you say its a deep grey? Deep Green? Deep Blue?

I would have to say a deep blue with brown.

Is there shakes on the house? If so, what color are they?

The shakes are cedar panels. Not positive on the actual color.

If you could compare the "French vanilla" trim to a color in the mastic quest would you say it's close to classic cream? I LOVE this combo.
