Beverlynn: I love that! I can just imagine how happy that made you feel. :) I used to have a small dolphin I got from Sea World San Diego. Right when I got it, I named it Kimberly (after the pink Power Ranger because I was OBSESSED with the show at the time). I took Kimberly everywhere and even talked to her when I was feeling lonely. haha

Snoopy was my very best friend for a long time!!!

Too funny! Mine was a Snoopy too! Passed down from my aunt, that she got while getting her appendix taken out at a young age! He was tattered and pretty dirty, and one day I decided to throw him through the wash cycle. Ended up in more than a few pieces. Poor Snoopy.

I had a Kris Kringles dog I named Boggle that I carried around with me everywhere and would do a bedtime routine with. My mom still has that one displayed in a hutch at home.

I still have my Steiff teddy bear, very old and worn and he is part of a collection I have had for years. These bears are, of course, collector items and valuable but I won't part with them as they are part of my "family".

I had a raccoon named Keiki that spent the better part of 10 years as my constant companion.

I have a koala that I still sleep with. Yes, I'm almost 39, but he is cute and works nicely as a support instead of using a big pillow. :-D What's funny is when he busts a seam, he has a deep, dark red stuffing. Looks like the poor thing is bleeding to death. HA!

I loved to collect big bears, with the softest fur, that were usually really GQ. They had on vests, bow ties and shoes :) When I got a little older I had a thing for trolls...the cute ones if there was a such thing. They had the colorful hair, the eyes that looked like gems and cute outfits.

Ah, yes. Lady, floppy ears and stitched eyes, started out the same color as my Uncle's Golden Retriever. When I had polio and was in quarantine in the hospital (age 5) she was the only comfort I wanted. Every thing, including Lady, had to be sterilized after that. Now 60 years later, she sits on a shelf in my bedroom, a very pale beige.

My doll was named Honeylue. She is now 66 years old and is put away for safe keeping. Our youngest has her floppy dog, "Wow Wow"who is 31 years old and counting. He is a world traveler and has undergone many stitches to keep him together. The older two had blankies that were just as loved as "Wow Wow"

I had many stuffed toys, but to this day the one I love the most is George, a gorilla my mom and dad gave me when I was 19 and in college, studying anthropology. George has seen me through many ups and downs. He hasn't come through unscathed. His face, hands and feet are plastic and my dog decided to eat one of his legs many years ago. An "amputation" and he's now a physically challenged ape. He sits on my dresser in a place of honor. Next to a photo of my parents. I should probably add, I'm 50 years old. :)

My favorite stuffed animal was a very big teddy bear - about 4 ft tall. I used to call it Teddy. It was given to me as a Christmas gift when I was 7 years old.

My favorite stuffed animal was a small teddy bear my mom's boyfriend (now stepdad) gave me when I contracted Typhoid Fever from a summer camp. They didn't know what was wrong with me, so I spent a couple of weeks in isolation til they finally figured it out. That is the only thing I still have left from my childhood. He's put up with some of the special things that my kids owned when they were little. I slept with him for years, especially when I wasn't feeling well. His name was Teddy! How original! My daughter has Mr. Hugs, a small stuffed dog that we got her when she was scared to stay in her own room. Mr. Hugs has even been sent away to a stuffed animal hospital for some "spa treatments" a couple of years ago. I found a brand new one on ebay and bought it for her while Hugs 1.0 was gone. He is called Hugs 2.0! She's 24 and in the Army! If she could have figured a way, he would have gone with her. My son was attached to a blanket, and we still have it.

Although I had several, my constant companion was a teddy bear in overalls with "Sunshine" stenciled on the bib. He went on every road trip throughout childhood and even made his way to college with me as well as the purchase of our first and second homes. I keep him around, despite his dinginess from years of hugs and sharing of butterscotch discs, because he is a constant reminder of the precious memories from my childhood.

This is Puffy, my precious stuffed kitty that I bought with my own money when I was around 5 or 6 years old. His eyes have been replaced with buttons, his whiskers are long gone, and his neck has been sewed back on with blue thread. My brother enjoyed torturing me by pushing Puffy's nose in, and while fighting to get him back, his head nearly came off! Puffy went everywhere with me through high school, and still has a special place in my room today. He's well over 40 years old now :)

I still have my Winnie the Pooh (I called him Pooh Bear) that I've had since before I was 2. I have him put up on a shelf now because I don't want him to get in any worse shape than he already is. He is probably 37 years old. He long ago lost his red shirt & my mom sewed him up several times. I took him everywhere when I was little, but when I was older he was a great listener and wiped away many tears from heartbreaks and bad days. He was the first thing that was unpacked when I went to college & after when I made moves further from home. I bought both of my children their own Winnie the Poohs before they were born. All 3 look very different. My kids were never attached to them as much as I was to mine, but they have so many more toys than I did as a kid. My husband also has a worn out tan & brown dog that was his favorite as a kid. He has a place of honor beside my Pooh Bear.

TuffyBoo was a large (to my five year old eyes) brown bear I received for my birthday and instantly adored. Since I didn't play with dolls(much to my Mother's dismay), TuffyBoo served as companion. Unfortunately, when I got married at 20, I thought it time to give him up and never saw him again. Never give up your cherished childhood possession!

I don't remember mine but had to figure out something for my 8 month old son... he already has a ton of them. Here's what I came up with to store them AND keep them out of the pets' mouths... Let me know what you think.

Corby-Is that shaped like a window frame? How did you attach it to the ceiling?

Corby - They sell hammock-like things for toys that go up high in a corner. I had one for my son and it worked great. I think they called it a toy net?

chrisinky - Think of it like a canoe that's been split down the middle along the long axis. It is mounted directly to the wall. I actually just listed them on Etsy if you want to see more detail there. Just search for "Lachlan's Ark".

lilion - Thanks. This has actually worked out very well. I am thinking about designing a corner mounted version too.
