How about black paint with something shimmery as upholstery?

Depends on where you are going to use the chair and what that area looks like. Do you have pictures of that room?

One room it could go to is the sunroom replacing the white chair ( not good for my back) depending on how it comes out . See pictures.

How about a colorful ikat fabric? Then, paint the wood a bright color from the fabric.

Ummmm, it will be more difficult than I thought, both looks are appealing to me. Kerry Black and white I like for the sunroom or perhaps my bedroom that is next on the list to do over . Darzy the ikat fabric with bright color on the wood, will be perfect for an artist studio I have in the basement. Both ideas are great, thanks.

Go black on wood and do something like this

First, your sunroom is beautiful. Love the light. Anyway, you have lots of wood in that room so I like the idea of painting the chair in a color or maybe even the color of the wood trim. You have a lot of warm tones in the room so I'm not sure about adding a cool color like the above ikat fabrics. Just my thoughts.

Or go white paint...

Or maybe a chartreuse paint. You've got wonderful taste so have fun and please let us see when you finish.

Thanks housemamma. The chair can be done in many ways and look good. One thing I like about that room is that I can change the rug, pillows and throw and have a different look each time. The cushions are loose so I can have more than one cover for them, the dilemma is the color of the wood. White is nice too and was my initial idea since it will be in the same place as the white chair now . I will have to think about it. Thanks a lot for your help. Will keep you posted.
