It doesn't look too bad, Unfortunately I cannot really remodel the ceiling, you see, I am renting the flat from a housing association. I am limited as to what I can do to the flat.
I was given a piece of advice from a friend that I should use a grey/charcoal coloured carpet to "bring out the white" of the sofas and trying to find a wallpaper/paint that would go with them is difficult. I have not yet purchased a carpet so that is still open to suggestions too.

Hi David.......A picture of your furniture pieces would help, is your floor plan 1/4" scale???

Agreed, a material board would be more useful in this case than a floor plan.
