I dont agree. Although fashions change, the beige looks to me to be a more natural stone color and I think that over time we come back to the natural colors of materials.

I agree. Our downstairs bathroom is the original with white subway tiles. It did have a couple of 1/2 bands of forest green, but our tile guy routed them out and replaced with old white and new white tiles. The coolest aspect is the floor: 4-inch hexagonal tiles that I've found available. Our upstairs main bath is travertine-look porcelain and looks like a trend from the past, along with the oil-rubbed brass fixtures. Since I am not of the budget that allows for a bathroom remodel every few years, I'll stick with classics.

There is no such thing as fashion when it comes to colors - just what you like. Natural looking materials like stone will always be a favorite - for me. To each his own.

On a personal basis, you're 100% right; but if someone is looking to enhance the marketability of a property, there are colors and treatments that can be outdated looking and unattractive to a potential buyer.

I also like natural-looking elements, but wall-to-wall (and up the walls) dark slate tiles were hot a few years ago and have lost their appeal. I have two small rental condos in the city center and one of them has very expensive finishes from 12 years ago (dark burgundy/cherry cabinets, dark heavily patterned natural stone counters against Travertine backsplashes, brass hardware). The other has builder-grade finishes from 20 years ago. The one with builder grade finishes (pecan cabinets, white tile, white synthetic granite counters, black metal fixtures and knobs) is less dated looking than the remodeled unit.

Both units need serious attention (carpet, window coverings, light fixtures, replace all switches/plugs/plates) in the coming year. My boyfriend's aunt is an interior designer with 40 years experience. She has been presenting me with finishes that looked classic every decade since she's been working. The trendiness will come with art prints, textiles, lamp shades and accent furnishings, things that are easily replaced.

Who cares what you think. The people that own the bathroom like it. Find a bath you like and let that be yours???? Duh!!!

Your comment is rude and disrespectful to the Homeowner who graciously allowed their home to be photographed and the designer who worked to create a space the client requested. If you don’t particularly care for something it is possible to just move on without saying anything.

Clearly whoever parented you failed to teach you that if you have nothing nice to say that you should not say anything at all.
