Breakfast nook help!

Reposting this with the photos set up better, as I'm new to this! We just renovated our kitchen and added a breakfast nook. Work is almost done, and now I realize that I need someplace to sit! We are planning on having cushions on the banquette and a table with an extra chair or two. Any color suggestions? Cabinets are white shaker style, with absolute black granite countertops. Wall color is Benjamin Moore Barren Plain #2111-60. Backsplash tile is in blue/gray tones. Hoping to tie in cushions on nook banquette with a cushion in the mudroom area.

Any and all thoughts appreciated!

Use a trestle or pedestal table for ease of getting into the bench. Can you find a striped fabric with a blend of the blues and gray from the tile?

Love it! I agree that striped cushion would be great. Maybe some roman shades in a matching fabric so as to not block the windows. I'd go with a round table and mismatched chairs that are painted coordinating colors to the cushion colors.

A patterned cushion would be nice, I might also use it as an area to throw some splash of Colour. You have a nice harmonious tone with all the other elements, so you can use the banquette as an area for something different. A high chroma aqua would pick up on the cool tones of the space, but you could also get away with fuchsia, or mint. Upholstery in this way makes it versatile and it can easily change it up every so often to keep your kitchen trendy and fresh!

Amazing breakfast nook, I love it!! I would do a black pedestal table or a stained wood, not white, for some contrast with your white benches. I'd do a more neutral cushion in a stain resistant fabric and then some throw pillows in a print that you could switch out on a whim or with the seasons. If you do a bolder or colorful print on the main cushion, you might have trouble decorating later with tablecloths or placemats or whatever. I would also do a more neutral bamboo roman shade on the windows.

I love the idea of pedestal or trestle table--particularly like the ones in the photos above. Thanks for all the ideas! I was thinking of keeping fabrics to neutral tones or incorporating the blue/gray tones, but I also like the idea of adding a color like aqua or mint. That's why I'm asking, since I tend to be too "safe" with my own choices! We haven't decided yet about window coverings--I was thinking of leaving them as is, but my husband thinks we may need something there.

Since the banquette cushions will just be peeking out from under the table, I'd suggest that you use a strong accent color or a big pattern, and match it on the roman shades on the windows. I've attached an example I mocked up, using a big pattern on the windows. This is Robert Allen's Leda Peony in Aquatint. It's got some pops of gold and gray mixed in with the soothing aqua, and coordinates well with your outside views.

Since the cushions on the banquette are just going to peek out from under the table (yes, go with contrast on the table finish), I'd suggest that you use a strong color on them and/or a big pattern, and then match or coordinate it on roman shades at the windows. I've made a mock up as an example of a big pattern. This fabric is Robert Allen's Leda Peony in Aquatint. It's got nice pops of yellow, gray and cream on the aqua background and looks so nice with your views.
