I don't think the house looks unfinished, although, I am honestly not crazy about the relationship between the cream color and the grey. I think that if it were my place, I might find a darker color for the cream areas to allow the column and beam structures to be highlighted and diminish the contrast with the black windows. I do think that the landscaping could use some thought, however. It does not, in my view, have nearly enough impact to stand up to the house.

None of that addresses the issue of windows that leak when it rains. How old is the house? Is the leaking a recent development? There is no necessary contradiction between having winter sun and protection from the rain. Winter sun tends to come from lower in the sky, unless you are close to the equator.

If the house is new, have your architect and contractor over and show them where it leaks. If it isn't new, get someone reputable in there to have a look.

The house is 13 years old and I was after some design that would enhance the house and put some cover over the windows. I have had several tradesmen try to fix the window problem but silicone has been the only answer and that will ony last a few years with the movement of black aluminium and the Australian heat and cold. I did think of some type of perspex or glass instead of the usual colour bond over the window protection but need a design that will enhance the place , any ideas welcome thanks

I see. Putting cover over the windows is no small undertaking. You could try a continuous pergola kind of structure out of wood or steel that integrated a covering into it. Maybe try painting the main body of the house a darker grey than the column and beam structures that had some brown in it, and plant your new pergola in something bright-colored.
