We've typically hidden TVs behind retractable doors in kitchen or living room cabinetry. With the larger flat screen TVs we now see, the cabinetry can be shallower, but to span the width of the wider TVs the doors are bifold retractable doors. There are also hardware options to raise a hidden TV out of a "cabinet", or reveal a wall mounted TV hidden behind a piece of artwork with hardware that raises the painting - but this requires adequate ceiling height.
