Have you looked at Room & Board for furniture inspiration? They are well made and work well with mid century to modern transition. Another option is to find things you like on craigslist / eBay for vintage pieces at decent (usually) price points.

Also try West Elm. And Anthropologie for some whimsical accents. Oh, and Urban Outfitters.

Think of decorating as layering...what bones do you have / need, then what furniture, then what accessories. Opportunities to go bold or subtle, expensive or not, along the way. Have you looked on etsy for some cool, industrial fixtures or furniture? Or wanting to go modern sophisticated versus modern industrial?

Yes...glass cutter can size and bevel to fit...should also be able to attach. Then frame doesn't have to be made of wood...can be MDF

If you really want to be fancy...drop the glass 3 or 4 inches below the frame. De-silver and frost the glass that 3 or 4 inches and put LED tape lighting along the frame...would be able to glow from the bottom.

Now that you're skewing toward sophisticated, I go with a rich charcoal...can even bring in clear or black crystal chandelier for lighting

No...LEDs inside the bed frame so that the glass will glow. With everything else going on, ceiling should be "normal". I still like terrazzo on floor with flokati or sheepskin rugs.

Slate, yes...but keep to gray or black...no multi-color. Let the chandelier be the only ceiling decoration.

Looking at your idea books, you might actually like the faux leather panels from textures3dpanels.com. Typically for retail applications, but look at their gallery for ideas.

If you're going to hang the bed, need to make sure ceiling is designed / reinforced to support the weight.

about hanging the bed i had an idea seeing as theres going to be mirror around the bottom of the frame i could have a pedestal under the bed to make it look as if its hanging but its actually being supported by the pedestal.
leather panelling is a great idea.

That would work, but in that case, want some kind of headboard or use the stencil treatment on the wall at the head of the bed.

That would look cool...can echo the pattern in the bedding or just go black and white. Instead of black stencil, paint store can mix charcoal paint 10% darker. Try sample...might have to go 20% darker since your base will already be dark

Can do that too, but will need something to break up the vertical plane...large mirror or artwork.

Definitely stabilize the bed if you're going to use glass!
