Imnqueen, thank you for saying what we all thought! :) I would like to point out that $599 is only for ONE of three sections in that foto!!! So, I can see how one would FREAK on that price!!! If you are handy you can make the entire thing for that! If you make it a "built in" in your closet it would be less, too...no back needed when it's back IS the wall...make sense? Anyhow, I think I'm going to tackle this one! ;) I'm the handy person in this household! Hope to have done in a few months (there is another project at the top of my list at the moment) then I can post fotos and info!

you can find these mdf cubbies at lowes. I saw in a style book that you can put two of these on top of each other for a wall of shoes. I think the mdf cubbies (they are what all the heels are in) can be found for around 50 dollars or so. You can screw them together paint any coloer and finish off with crown molding. A very comparable piece for a fraction of the cost.

wow, don't let my wife see this. You may be able to configure something from IKEA at a lower price. It won't be as elegant obviously but they may be worth a shot. Good luck. I bought 2 rubbermaid cabinets and called the company for 8 extra shelves (they each came with 4 shelves, now they each have 8). That's what my wife uses for her shoes. Plus they have doors that close to help keep the shoes clean.
