    Is the floor the same throughout the house? It looks like the floors in the foyer may be wider, and a different finish?

    Also, for a smaller dining room, would you recommend a wider or narrower floor board?

    We matched the existing floor throughout the house. The boards are "old style" hardwood, thin (2"+-) with lengths no shorter than 3'-0"

    I like a 2"-3" board sanded and finished in place with no short lengths; nothing under 2-3'-0"

    Those floor are also Quarter Sawn Oak, hence the very beautiful and distinctive look. You can see the rays and flakes all through the floor.
