Can you provide some photos of the room so we can have a better sense of what your room is like?

Our house has tons of windows, too, which is wonderful but I'm having difficulty figuring out where to put a tv in one of the rooms with the most windows. It was suggested to place it above the windows, on a stand that could be pulled down, in front of a window, when you wanted to watch, tucked up high when not needed. I've also seen pieces of furniture in kitchens and ends of beds, and living rooms, that contain the tvs inside. You push a button and the tv slowly rises when you want to watch it. Called a TV life cabinet.

A few days ago I shopped at our local thrift store and was able to find/make a dining table that I love. We moved in to a new home recently and my old dining room table just didn't make the cut. Drop leaf tables are not for every room I discovered (but my table had served me well for 30 years). I wanted to try a round table, maybe painting it black but didn't want to make a big investment in my experiment. I found a 48" round plywood table top (on top of a broken wicker bottom) and a second small, black table with trestle sewing machine legs. I plopped the plywood top on top of the sewing machine legs and, oh my, I have a beautiful, black dining table. Now to fasten it all down and paint the plywood top black, maybe add a trim to the sides to conceal that it's plywood and, poof, for less than $50. I have a new round dining table. Love it! Have fun experimenting. After researching for you I looked at pictures of TV cabinets and am wondering if I'm up to the challenge of making my own (well, having my husband do the cutting and pasting). Shoot, Costco sells them (but I couldn't find a price for that).

I recently stayed at an inn that had the tv's placed in old trunks with lift mechanisms at the foot of the bed...perfect for lounging and viewing.

Two innovative ideas... One is a track based in floor and ceiling like a curtain rail. One panel floor to ceiling moves like a sliding door and is rolled into place or away as needed. The other is a furniture item with the tv coming out from below along with a back panel to shield the eyes and glare against the window

scubadivingkeys, another place that I love to 'hunt' for things is on Craigslist. I don't know where you're located, but assume that it might be close to the Keys in FL (from your on screen name). I found these beautiful TV lift cabinets on 'South Florida' Craigslist. Cool!
