how durable is marble on countertops.

I have been told that marble scratches and should not be used as counter tops in kitchen area. Also staining can be an issue. I love the look, though

    There has been a lot written about this on my other photos also in articles. It just depends on the person. if you worry about every mark, then marble isn't for you. but if you love the look and are ok with the natural patina and marks that will come with time...then it's for you. also if you seal it with a very good sealer, it won't mark as bad as one might think. you need to do that once a year or so. keep in mind marble has been used for thousands of years as surfaces...
