I found it really helpful to have an interior decorator come to the house. She brought samples by Hunter Douglas and Kirsch. She was also able to inform me about inside vs. outside mount. Consider the Alustra (Hunter Douglas). They seem to be a modern women roman shade. Nice pics if you google it. I am really loving this example...

Here are a couple of options. You could do Solar Screen Shades. These will reduce heat and glare. Also take a look at the new style shade called Vision Shades. Roller Screen Shades like the ones in libratravel's pictures would look and work great!

Take into account climate. If you get extreme weather or high crime rate you may like external protection.
